Carlos Sanchez Cerón has extensive experience in the economic and financial sector, specializing in analysis and risk management. He graduated in Economics from the Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla, his thesis "The Trade-off between growth variability and inflation variability; rational expectations model "earned honorable mention. He also has a Masters in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) as well as postgraduate courses in Public Sector Economics from INAP-Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, Spain.
Currently, Carlos Sánchez is the Chairman of Valuation, Analysis, and Risk, SC and participates as a consultant in various financial risk committees. In the past, Carlos Sánchez held various positions in the public sector, including Deputy Director of Monetary Planning and Credit in the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit. In the private sector, he served as Director of Financial Analysis at Banco Mexicano Somex and as Corporate Director of Risk at Asemex- Banpaís Group. In the consulting field, he was an Associate Consultant at Grupo de Economistas Asociados (GEA).
Research and Publications
Carlos Sánchez is passionate about academia and his researches have earned him several awards: He received Honorable Mention for his thesis and in 1990 he won the Finance Award from the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives (IMEF). He has written and published several articles in numerous journals and served as a member of the board in Vertex and CNBV Journal of Banking and Financial Markets.
Carlos Sánchez has taught numerous courses in Analysis and Risk Management in Mexico and other countries around the world. He has been a professor at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), Universidad de las Américas (UDLA), and Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA).
